I’m Pregnant!
Well it’s finally out in the open (thank goodness as I couldn’t keep it a secret any longer!) that I’m pregnant! My bulging belly couldn’t be put down to my delving into the office biscuit tin a moment longer.
After weeks of keeping it to ourselves it’s a relief that the news is out. My constant dashing to the loo and grey looking face has a reason behind it!The first 3 months are when you’re supposed to keep the news to yourselves but this is the time when you’re feeling worst of all so you want to shout from the rooftops why you’re looking so pale and have zero energy!
Whilst we’re happy about the news, no-body tells you about how awful you’ll feel, the sickness (there has been lots!), the tiredness, the weird metallic taste in your mouth and a super strong sense of smell which in an office full of beauty products, candles and fragrances is not such a good thing.
Where is this ever allusive ‘pregnancy bloom’ that everyone talks about?
It’s not fair I say silently! I want gorgeous glowing skin and a radiant pregnancy glow about me.
It’s amazing that something as tiny as a lentil can make me feel and look so grim but it will be worth it in the end I keep telling myself!
I have advice a plenty and I’m taking it all on board, especially where morning sickness is concerned (which I might add for some it seems doesn’t live up to its name, it should be appropriately renamed all-day sickness). I have tried all the usual remedies, ginger tea, ginger biscuits, bananas but nothing will hold off the nausea except Quease Ease Organic Lip Balm. It has an aroma of Ginger and Peppermint and is great as you can apply it anytime. My one was given to me by a friend but you can buy online from Harvey Nichols for £3.25 (It’s reduced at the moment from £6.50).
The first few weeks have gone past in a blur of constant sleepiness. I have been so tired I could sleep standing up, how do other women do it I ask myself? Looking after a family, going to work whilst feeling this rubbish- you must all be super woman! Luckily Mark has been great, lots of cooked meals (which I then decide I can’t stomach), telling me I’m not fat I’m just carrying a baby and generally putting up with a pregnant woman’s demands can’t which can’t have been easy. With my bump now beginning to show I’m told by all to moisturise, moisturise and moisturise some more.
With anything that has even a faint aroma (aftershave, perfume, hairspray and minty toothpaste are all out) the lovely pampering Sanctuary Mum to be products are also a no no at the moment, the thing that makes them so lovely is their utterly gorgeous fragrance which unfortunately is on the list of things I cant smell. I’ve discovered Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula , a fragrance free version which has been a god send as it’s the only moisturiser that doesn’t make me feel sick.
The Sanctuary Radiance Boosting Facial Oil has been great for my skin as its 100% natural so the aroma smells good enough to eat. Apply it to your face and neck in the evening as it can give a slightly oil slick look if you apply in the morning.
Everyone has said now is the time to pamper myself…I’ve got the products, now all I need is the energy to do it!

Congrats! Hope you’re feeling much better now.
Well I must say, it’s about time I found a decent site with good info on what I was looking for. Great job on the site and the post. Thanks
