Next skin care wonder product? It’s all about the power of oils

The secret’s out; oils are the next big news in skin care… and the good news?…they work on all skin types.

Many women are reluctant to use facial oils, expecially those with oily skin but the truth is that there isn’t anything better for your skin.

Oils replicate the natural moisture in your skin and are extremely compatible with your skin’s genetic make up; making absorbtion of all the lovely goodies they contain far more effective than cream based moisturisers.

Contray to belief, oils are the better skin care option for people with oily skin. The science is that your skin won’t over compensate for the oil it’s producing as it will know (it’s clever stuff, skin) that it has enough of it.

Our skin produces different types of oils (lipids), which come from two sources; the sebaceous glands produce sebum, which is transported to the skin surface through the pores, while the skin cells produce their own lipids to form the moisture barrier in the upper layers of the skin. Facial oils blend more easily with the natural oils of your skin, making it less dehydrated without leaving any sticky residue.

Most facial oils are gentle, highly nourishing to the skin and tend to only have one or two ingredients (which is a positive thing!) which are of more intensity than creams.

So if your still shaking your head thinking I must be mad to even recommend you put an oil on your face, give ours a try.

100% natural and over 99% organic our very own facial oil combines oils of Frankincense, organic Rose, Rosehip seed, Jojoba and Sunflower to leave your skin gloriously glowing (but not greasy!), looking luminious and revitalised. Oh and it smells divine too!

  1. After reading the article, I feel that I really need more info. Could you suggest some resources please?

  2. Hi,

You could always check out site forums such as Handbag.com as these offer a broad sprectrum of product advice, you can put the question ‘out there’ to a wide variety of people who would be willing to offer advice on they’re own experiences.

Alternatively, visit your local salon as many provide free advice on which products will suit your skin.
If you are in the near vaninity (London, Covent Garden), you could visit The Sanctuary Skin Spa for a skin consultation. They offer a free service if booking a treatment or if you’ve spent over £25 on skin care products. It gives you an in-depth insight into your skin as well as home care advice and a regime for you to take home.
    Hope this helps!
